Welcome to the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter website.
The Association of Former Intelligence Officers (AFIO) was incorporated in 1975 as a non-profit, non-political, educational association for current and former intelligence professionals and supporters of the U.S. intelligence community. The “James Quesada” San Francisco Bay Area chapter was created as the local chapter of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers.
The chapter was re-named “Andre LeGallo” chapter in June 2014 in honor of Mr. LeGallo’s 35 years of dedicated service to our country and the CIA and 4 years as our chapter President. Mr. LeGallo’s daugher, Therese LeGallo, a career CIA Clandestine Operations Officer with 20 years of service and 2 years as our Chapter President, passed away in May 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.
The chapter meets on average, 4 times a year and features speakers on timely intelligence and national security topics. If you are interested in joining our chapter:
1) You must first join AFIO National at: http://www.afio.com/memberapp. To remain a chapter member, your national membership must be current.
2) For chapter membership you can:
- Fill out the San Francisco Chapter membership application and send in the annual dues (January – December) of $30 ($40 late fee after the due date unless this is your first time applying). Checks should be made payable to “AFIO SF Chapter” and mailed to: Mariko Kawaguchi c/o AFIO, P.O. Box 117578, Burlingame, CA 94011 and include this form: afio_sf_chapter_membership_application_2019
